How to convert images in bulk

    1. Add mixed formats

Drop files, choose images or paste screenshots. The workspace opens immediately. Filenames appear first, then thumbnails load progressively in the scrollable queue.

    2. Choose your output

Set the main format, additional formats, quality and optional dimensions. Customize one image when its requirements differ.

    3. Inspect and download

Open Preview to compare the main result with the original. Download individual versions or selected completed files as ZIP.

    Pair this with

    Choose the right output format

    JPG for photographs

Widely accepted by forms and publishing tools. JPG is lossy and fills transparent areas with your selected background colour.

    PNG for transparent graphics

Lossless output for logos, screenshots and sharp text. The quality slider does not reduce PNG colours.

    WebP for web images

Supports transparency and offers lossy or lossless encoding. Check the destination’s accepted formats.

    AVIF for modern workflows

A compact image format with transparency support. Encoding can take longer, and some portals do not accept it.

    JXL for advanced use

Offers lossy and lossless encoding, but destination compatibility is limited. The preview uses a decoded PNG display copy.

For dedicated conversions, try HEIC to JPG, PNG to JPG, JPG to WebP or JPG to JXL.

    Dimensions, quality and file-size requirements

Original dimensions are preserved by default. Optional width and height limits fit each image proportionally. Do not enlarge smaller images prevents unnecessary upscaling. Enable enlargement only when your destination requires it. File-size targets are best effort and report whether the actual output meets the limit; reducing dimensions requires your explicit permission.

Lossless PNG and optional lossless WebP or JXL retain decoded pixels when no resizing is applied. They do not restore detail previously lost in a compressed source. Read our lossy versus lossless guide, or use AI Image Upscaler for a separate enlargement workflow.

A batch queue with individual controls

Search filenames, sort by size or name and filter waiting, completed or failed files. Select files independently from Preview. Newly added images are selected without restarting earlier conversions. Unchanged completed files are skipped; Reconvert explicitly runs them again. Individual Convert actions process only that row.

Filename prefixes, suffixes and optional numbering help organize exports. ZIP entries receive a sequence prefix to avoid duplicate names. The CSV report records statuses, dimensions and file sizes. Multiple requested formats are included together. Cancel stops the active worker and leaves completed results available.

    Privacy, metadata and browser limits

Image processing runs locally in this browser session. Codecs load when needed, and workers encode one image at a time. There is no fixed upload-count or input-byte cap, but device memory remains finite. Download your files before closing or reloading the page.

Exports do not copy source EXIF or GPS. Decoder-normalized orientation is applied to pixels. Source colour profiles and HDR rendering may differ after conversion, so inspect colour-critical images. For a dedicated metadata workflow, use Remove EXIF Data or Remove Location from Photo.

Animations and multi-page TIFF are not silently flattened. Use Compress GIF or GIF Maker for animation. SVG, PSD and camera RAW require other workflows and are not accepted by this converter.

    Frequently asked questions

Can I choose a whole folder?

Yes. Choose folder or Folder in the workspace finds supported images, including subfolders. Review the image count and filenames, then click Add images. Files load progressively. Browsers may require their own permission or folder confirmation; those prompts cannot be styled by the site.

How do I convert multiple images?

Drop your files, choose the output format and click Convert selected. Individual settings override batch settings. Review each result, download individual files or download selected completed outputs as a ZIP.

    Which formats can I convert?

Still JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC/HEIF, BMP, single-page TIFF and JXL inputs are supported through available decoders. Outputs are JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF and JXL. Files can fail if the decoder or device cannot handle them. SVG, PSD and camera RAW are not supported here.

Can I create several formats together?

Yes. Choose a main output format and select additional formats. Each requested version is re-encoded, included in the ZIP and available to download individually. The preview shows the main output.

    Does conversion preserve transparency?

PNG, WebP, AVIF and JXL can retain transparent pixels. JPG cannot. Choose the JPG background colour to fill transparent areas. The queue identifies whether the decoded input contains transparency.

    Will conversion make files smaller?

Not necessarily. Different formats, quality levels and image content produce different sizes. Conversion can increase file size. Use the optional maximum KB target or Bulk Image Compressor when file size is the main requirement.

    Are animations supported?

This is a still-image converter. Detected GIF, animated WebP, APNG and animated AVIF are rejected rather than silently flattened. Multi-page TIFF must be separated first. Use our GIF tools for animations.

Is there a batch or file-size limit?

There is no fixed upload-count or input-byte cap. Large files show a warning. Available browser memory and decoder support impose practical limits. Preparation and processing are sequential. Stop loading retains prepared images; cancelling conversion retains completed results.

    Can I paste images?

Use Ctrl+V or Cmd+V when your clipboard contains image bytes. File paths, website URLs and HTML may not contain an image file. Use Choose images or drag and drop in that case.

What happens to metadata and orientation?

Every output is re-encoded without copying source EXIF or GPS metadata. Orientation is normalized by the decoder. Source metadata preservation is not offered. Exact ICC, CMYK and HDR colour reproduction is not guaranteed.

Why does JXL need an explanation?

JXL is an advanced output with limited browser and application compatibility. This tool creates PNG display copies for JXL and AVIF previews while the downloaded file remains JXL. Check whether your destination accepts JXL before choosing it.
