What still needs your review
Software cannot guarantee acceptance. Look closely at requirements that depend on the person, the original photograph and the receiving authority.

Why the background is not replaced automatically
A clean white or light background is common, but replacing it in software is not universally permitted. United States guidance asks for an original image without digital changes. Canada explicitly treats background replacement as an alteration, and the United Kingdom requires an unaltered photo.
For that reason, this maker does not cut out the person or invent a new background. Photograph the person against the required background with soft, balanced lighting. This protects fine hair edges, natural shadows and the integrity of the identity image.

Frequently asked questions
Does this tool guarantee that my passport photo will be accepted?
No. It can help with dimensions, framing and file size, but the issuing authority checks identity, recency, pose, lighting, expression, background and other requirements. Always compare the result with the linked official guidance.
Why does the tool not automatically replace the background?
Some authorities prohibit digitally altered backgrounds and may reject edited photos. The tool preserves the photographed background and provides positioning guidance instead. Take the original picture against the required plain background.
What does DPI change?
DPI describes print density. Pixel dimensions and file size are the important settings for most online uploads. The DPI selection is used when laying the photo onto the printable 4 by 6 inch sheet.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The selected image is decoded, positioned, resized and encoded in your browser. The page does not send the photo to ImgTweak for processing.
Why can a correctly sized photo still be rejected?
Dimensions are only one part of compliance. A photo can fail because it is old, blurry, altered, poorly lit, incorrectly posed, shadowed or framed with the wrong head size.
Can I make a 2 by 2 inch passport photo?
Yes. Choose the United States printed passport preset. It creates a square 600 by 600 pixel image intended for 2 by 2 inch output at 300 DPI and can also generate a 4 by 6 inch print sheet.
