Privacy and security limitations
A QR code is not encryption. Anyone who can scan it may read the embedded Wi-Fi password, contact information, message or destination. Only include information you are comfortable sharing.
The generator does not verify that a website is safe, that coordinates are correct or that contact details belong to a particular person. Test the decoded result before publishing or printing it.
Frequently asked questions
Does this QR code expire?+
No. The generated QR code directly contains the information you enter. IMG Tweak does not use a redirect URL, account or subscription, so the file itself does not expire. A destination website can still move or stop working.
What error correction level should I use?+
Level M is a common general choice. Level Q or H adds more recovery data for printed codes that may become damaged. Higher correction also makes the symbol denser. Use H when placing a small logo over the center.
Why does a QR code need a quiet zone?+
The quiet zone is the empty border separating the QR symbol from surrounding artwork. Standard QR codes require four clear modules on every side for reliable detection.
Can I create a Wi-Fi QR code?+
Yes. Enter the network name, password and security type. Scanning devices can offer to join the network. Anyone who receives the code may be able to read the embedded password, so share it carefully.
Can I add a logo?+
Yes. Upload a PNG, JPG or WebP logo and keep it between 10 and 25 percent of the code width. The tool selects error correction H when a logo is added. Always test the result with several devices.
Should I download PNG or SVG?+
PNG is convenient for documents, social posts and common design apps. SVG stays sharp at any size and is usually better for websites, signs and professional printing.
Can colored QR codes still scan?+
Often, but contrast matters. The modules should be much darker than the background. Avoid similar colors, busy backgrounds and transparent placement over unpredictable artwork.
Is my information uploaded?+
No. QR generation and export run locally in your browser. Wi-Fi passwords, contact details and other entered content are not sent to IMG Tweak.
