Editorial Policy

How ImgTweak researches, tests, writes, updates and corrects its guides and technical content.

Last updated: September 6, 2026

Our purpose

ImgTweak publishes practical guidance about image compression, resizing, formats, metadata, privacy and web performance. Content is written to help readers complete a task or understand a technical choice, not simply to attract search visits.

Authorship and accountability

Each article identifies its author and links to an author profile with relevant background and subject areas. The named author is responsible for the article's clarity, accuracy and updates. Read more about Daniel Osei.

Research and sources

We prefer primary sources such as official product documentation, browser documentation, standards, research papers and platform help centers. When an article depends on an external fact, specification or recommendation, we aim to link to the source near the relevant claim. Estimates and examples are identified as such and should not be read as universal guarantees.

Tool testing

Guidance about ImgTweak tools is checked against the current interface and supported workflow. Results such as output size, processing speed and visual quality can vary with the source file, selected settings, browser and device. We avoid presenting a sample result as a guaranteed outcome for every image.

Publication and updates

Articles show a publication date. A revised date should only be shown after a meaningful review or content change. We review time-sensitive details, including platform requirements, browser support and format guidance, when new information becomes available. A newer date does not by itself mean every external service has kept the same requirements.

Corrections

If we find a material error, we correct the article and update its revision date when appropriate. Readers can report an error through the contact page . Please include the article URL, the disputed statement and a reliable source when possible.

Advertising and independence

Advertising helps support the site, but advertisers do not determine article conclusions or tool recommendations. Ads are presented separately from editorial content. If ImgTweak later publishes paid or affiliate content, that relationship will be disclosed clearly on the relevant page.

Scope and limitations

ImgTweak content is general technical information, not legal, financial, medical or professional advice. Platform specifications can change, so readers should confirm important submission requirements with the destination service. See the disclaimer for additional limitations.
