AI Image Upscaler

Enlarge photos by 2x or 4x while improving edges and texture. Choose the recommended everyday mode on any device or an optional higher quality mode on desktop, then compare and download the result.

How to upscale an image with AI

1

Add an image

Choose a JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF photo from your device.

2

Choose 2x or 4x

Review the planned pixel dimensions and any device memory adjustment.

3

Run the enhancement

The image is processed in padded sections inside your browser.

4

Inspect and download

Compare the original and result, choose a format and save the new file.

AI upscaling compared with normal resizing

Normal resizing calculates new pixels from nearby colors. It is predictable and useful when you only need exact dimensions. AI upscaling also estimates sharper edges and plausible texture, which can make small photographs look cleaner at a larger size.

Use the standard image resizer for exact width and height, social media dimensions or a result that should not invent detail. Use the AI upscaler when the source is small and visual enhancement matters.

What to inspect in an AI result

Inspect faces, eyes, small text, logos, repeating patterns and thin lines. AI enhancement can make these areas look sharper while changing their exact shape.

Open the finished files in the image comparison tool for a larger side-by-side check. If the result needs restrained finishing, use the image sharpener carefully to avoid halos.

Browser privacy and mobile stability

Your photo remains in the browser. Mobile devices use the lightweight processing mode, smaller tiles and conservative output limits. Desktop browsers can also select a more detailed mode. Each tile is released before the next section is processed to reduce peak memory use.

Prepare the finished image

Choose JPG for photographs and broad compatibility, PNG for lossless output, or WebP for efficient web delivery. Use Reduce Image Size in KB when a website has a file-size limit, or the Image Information tool to confirm final dimensions and format.

Frequently asked questions

Does the image leave my device?

No. The image is decoded, enhanced and exported locally in your browser. The processing files are downloaded by the browser, but your photograph is not uploaded for processing.

Should I choose 2x or 4x?

Choose 2x for a moderate increase that finishes sooner and is easier on memory. Choose 4x when you need a larger result and the source is small enough for the planned output dimensions.

What is the difference between everyday and higher quality?

Everyday quality is the recommended lightweight mode for most photos and all mobile devices. Higher quality is an optional desktop mode that uses a more detailed processor and takes longer to prepare and finish.

Can AI recover details that are missing?

No. AI can create plausible texture and sharper edges, but it cannot recover exact information that was never captured. Inspect faces, text, logos and fine patterns before using the result.

Why can the planned output be smaller than four times my original dimensions?

Very large outputs can exceed browser and device memory. The tool reduces the working input when necessary and shows the exact planned dimensions before processing.

Does the export retain EXIF or GPS data?

No. The visible result is drawn onto a new canvas and encoded as a new JPG, PNG or WebP file, so source EXIF and GPS metadata are not copied.
